Meet the Designer

Founded in 2025 by artist and musician Kaylie Caswell

Kaylie Caswell is a designer, musician, and visual artist whose work bridges artful modernism and nostalgic modernity through clothing, print, and sound.

Her design journey began in music — as the bassist of the genre-defying band Berried Alive, which she plays in with her husband. What started as a passion project designing band merchandise evolved into a full-fledged lifestyle and streetwear brand, marking her professional start in fashion.

But fashion had always been in her hands. From childhood sketchbooks filled with imagined garments to custom pieces sewn by her grandmother, Kaylie’s love for design began early. Fascinated by history, both recent and ancient, she was captivated by the way style could define an era. She often felt she belonged to another time entirely, asking her grandmother to make her a poodle skirt or flare-leg pants before they resurfaced in stores. That innate sense of nostalgia and reverence for fashion history continues to shape her modern perspective today.

For Kaylie, fashion is inseparable from memory. Every autobiographical moment she recalls is anchored by what she was wearing — and, more importantly, how it made her feel. This emotional connection informs her design process: she creates garments that carry sentiment and spark nostalgia, clothing meant to be remembered. Her goal is to design pieces that not only adorn but become part of the wearer’s story — garments to live in, travel in, and make memories in.

Kaylie’s visual art practice emerged alongside her music, initially through digital artwork for Berried Alive. Over time, her curiosity led her to explore traditional media — picking up soft pastels through a local class taught at the mall. She was instantly hooked on the tactile nature of the medium — the way applying dry pigment with her fingers felt much like playing bass, intuitive and physical. Drawn to its depth and immediacy, she began creating paintings that explored color, form, and emotion through touch. One of these pastel paintings became the basis for her first repeating print collection, which in turn inspired and defined the debut House of Caswell collection — a moment that crystallized her vision for the brand.

Through her multidisciplinary lens, Caswell transforms emotion, memory, and historical reference into wearable art — balancing precision with play, rebellion with elegance, and crafting pieces that speak to both the past and the present.

Building a world where clothing becomes art—personal, expressive, and endlessly evolving.
